A classic always delivers.
Today, I’m bringing back
one of my tips with a refresh.
When I first started my professional career,
I was told to leave my personal self at the office door.
I never learned how to do that, and that is a good thing.
When we show and share our heart, we treat people like people.
We need more of that in the workplace.
Business really isn’t always all business.
It’s also about the people who make it happen.
Without the people, there would be no business.
When we enter the workplace, we bring our whole selves.
That includes our feelings, worries, and whatever is going on in our personal lives.
Most of the time, we are focused on the work and we get it done.
Sometimes, there are moments when we literally need a moment.
If someone on your team is that person, let’s show we care.
We can show our heart by asking “How are you?” and waiting for a response.
Other times, we might offer to do their work so they can take a break.
Show your heart. It makes all the difference.
p.s. About the photo image: It is real. A couple of years ago, I walked into the market and saw a beautiful heart. I was instantly drawn to it. It was so big, red, AND the only tomato that looked like a heart.
