How to Identify Toxic Workplaces

A toxic workplace is when you experience unethical behavior, aggression, exclusion, disrespect, rumors, gossip, gaslighting, blame, punishment, microaggressions, lack of professional development, and more.

Your well-being and health suffer.

How do you avoid toxic workplaces when searching for a new position?

Look for the red flags.

If there aren’t opportunities to grow & learn, that is a red flag.

If the organization has a bad reputation, that is a red flag.

If there is high turnover, that is a red flag.

Each red flag is a hint that you should do more research and ask more questions.

Remember, a dream job is not a dream job if it’s in a toxic workplace.
