Be The Explorer

Managing difficult conversations is like an exploration.

You have some information while there is more for you to discover.

Be curious about what the other person is thinking.

Start with open questions while avoiding assumptions & judgments.

The more you listen to understand, the more likely you will receive that in return.

Then, talk about your ideas.

Learn where your ideas intersect with theirs, and how they differ.

The conversation provides an opportunity to deepen your learning about each other.

Curiosity can drive you together instead of apart,

even when your ideas are very different.
